First Aid Training for the Workplace or Leisure

Here at AFW Training we offer a range of first aid training that will enable you to meet your first aid requirements. Our Qualifier Awards accredited courses meet the requirements of “The Health and Safety (First Aid) regulations 1981”. We also provide bespoke training, customized to meet your needs.

Youth & Sporting Groups

If you are a youth or sporting group, we can provide a complete First Aid training course tailored specifically meeting the requirements of sports injuries or other leisure activities. We work with the aim to integrate our training by following guidance issued by your membership organisation or designing a course to your requirements. This ensures a comprehensive and precise service.

Level 2 – Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW)

This course is a one-day training session and is designed to fulfill the objectives of low-risk areas of your organization. Once completed it is valid for a 3-year duration. The syllabus covers:

  • The roles & responsibilities of an emergency first aider.
  • Assessing an accident
  • Managing an unresponsive casualty
  • CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation)
  • Recovery position
  • Choking
  • Seizures
  • Shock
  • Wounds & bleeding
  • Minor injuries
  • Cuts, grazes, and bruises
  • Minor burns and scalds

LEVEL 3 – FIRST AID AT WORK (FAW)

This course is a 3-day session and is designed for the higher risk areas of your business including areas which have a higher density of staff members. Level 3 First Aid at Work qualifications equips staff members with the skills to deal with emergency conditions and knowledge on illness and injury’s that they may come across in any given working day. This certificate is valid for 3 years and the syllabus contains the same elements as the Level 2 EFAW with the following additions:

  • Managing an unresponsive casualty
  • Heart attacks
  • Choking
  • Epilepsy
  • Asthma
  • Diabetes
  • Anaphylaxis
  • Head & spinal injuries
  • Chest injuries
  • Fractures
  • Sprains, strains & dislocations
  • Poisoning
  • Eye injuries

The Level 3 First Aid at Work training assessment is a combination of ongoing practical observations and 2 multiple choice question papers.

Level 3 – First Aid at Work Requalification

This course is a 2-day process and is ideal for individuals that already hold a Level 3 FAW certificate and need to re-qualify after holding their certificate for 3 years. All areas are covered that are required to re-qualify with updates where necessary.

AED, Anaphylaxis, BLS & First Aid Refresher
